Frozen Pensions Update

6 Nov 2022

In June the Chair of the International Consortium of British Pensioners wrote to the leaders of the major UK political parties requesting them to state their positions on the issue of frozen pensions. On 14th July Ed Davey responded by asserting his strong support for their unfreezing.

In July two Lib Dem MPs wrote to the Secretary of State for International Trade pressing for the frozen pensions issue to be part of reciprocal agreements linked to trade agreements. The reply was that there were no plans to include such discussions.

In August George Cunningham and Colin Bloodworth held a Zoom conference call with the Chair of British Pensions in Australia to discuss how we could assist their members to vote when the Elections Act 2022 comes into force.

Lord Chris Rennard will address British Pensioners in Australia at its AGM via zoom on 6th December 2022
